Entry Rules
· All Jackpot Show Exhibitors must be 8 to 19 years of age as of January 1, 2013.
· Entry Fees: Fees are per animal per show:
$12.00 for Goats, Hogs and Lambs
$22.00 for Beef (Market and Breeding)
$8.00 for Showmanship (Limit of one entry per species per show)
$2.00 disposal fee per animal for disposal of bedding and animal waste.
· All Entry Forms are due at the Fair Office by Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 5:00 pm. No phone entries accepted.
· Late Entry Forms will be accepted, by mail, postmarked May 29 and after, with a late processing fee of $20.00 per exhibitor. On site entries will be taken at weigh in only; all on site entries will be charged an additional late fee of $10.00 per head.
· Entry Forms must be signed by the participant and the parent(s) or guardian, if under 19 years old. Entry Forms not properly completed and signed will not be accepted.
· NO REFUNDS WILL BE PROVIDED after the May 28 entry deadline.
¨ For 2013 there will only be one showmanship contest per species.
¨ Showmanship will be divided into three age groups: as of 01/01/13, Junior 8-12, Intermediate 13-15, Senior 16-19.
¨ Exhibitors must use their own animal for showmanship classes.
¨ Animals must be owned by the exhibitor showing. Family owned animals cannot be shown.
Animal Health Rules
· All animals must conform to current State of Wyoming animal health and brand requirements.
· All animals must have a current (within 7 days of arrival) Certificate of Veterinary Inspection and will be inspected prior to off loading! Note: There will be NO complimentary inspection and NO complimentary certificates written. Absolutely no off loading of any animals after the close of weigh-ins on Saturday.
· Any animal showing symptoms of a contagious or infectious disease may be removed from the premises at the discretion of the Spring Fair Committee or their designated representative. Any lamb exhibiting an active stage of show lamb fungus or ringworm will not be allowed to unload or will be immediately removed from the grounds.
Classification Rules
· Beef Cattle will be weighed and measured (if numbers warrant); goats, hogs and lambs will be weighed.
· Goats and Lambs must have been slick shorn within the prior week, with no patterns. Goats and Lambs must have their baby teeth in place.
· All animals will be sorted by a committee at the scales during weigh-in to determine proper classification.
· Spring Spectacular Management reserves the right to combine or divide classes as needed.
Exhibitor Policy and Procedures
· The current Wyoming State Fair Youth Livestock Show Policies and Procedures will be followed in general and by species. These guidelines include the National Code of Show Ring Ethics and the Wyoming State Fair Foreign Substance Prevention and Residue Avoidance Program.
· Consumption of alcoholic beverages by guests and exhibitors is prohibited at all times at Fairplex during Spring Fair.
Premium Payout
o Each entry fee will have $2.00 per animal withheld for an office processing fee.
o Entry Fees will be used for class premiums; 15% of each entry fee will be used for species champion and reserve champion (60/40 split) and 85% of each entry fee will be utilized in a jackpot format for each class.
o Class premiums will be based on the number of animals shown in class with predetermined percentages and places, set as shown:

7 or more shown = 35% 25% 20% 15% 05%
6 or less shown = 40% 25% 20% 15%
o Showmanship Premiums will be paid in cash with five (5) payouts per exhibitor age division and by species shown. Premium payout based on five places with predetermined percentages as set with class premiums.
o Class and Championship Premiums will be paid in cash; premiums will be paid by cash on Saturday, June 1 (3pm until 7 pm) and on Sunday, June 2 (10 am until 2pm). Exhibitors must pickup premiums prior to departure on Sunday as no premiums will be mailed. Exhibitors are fully responsible for premiums being picked up.
Exhibitor Notices
· Exhibitors are responsible for providing their own bedding.
· Wood Shavings for bedding will be available for purchase from show management at designated times which will be posted and announced.
· Exhibitors are to clean out pens or stalls before leaving the show.
· Campground space for campers/trailers with electrical, sewer and water hookups are available for $25.00 per day/night. Please contact the fair office with your request for space by May 29.
· Concessions will be available near the show area for exhibitor convenience. Concessions provided by Friends of Fremont County Fair, a Spring Spectacular Sponsor.
Rule Enforcement
· THE FREMONT COUNTY SPRING SPECTACULAR MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE FINAL AND ABSOLUTE RIGHT TO INTERPRET THESE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND THEIR DECISION WILL BE FINAL.
· If you see a policy or rule infraction please notify:
First Choice - Species Superintendent or Species Committee Member
Second Choice -Show Management or Fair Staff
Third Choice - Fair Board Member
o Each report of rule violations will be reviewed by the Show Management and appropriate action will be taken. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction you may file a protest. Instructions for “Protests” are available at the Fair Office.

· All Animal Entries
o Animal Health Papers (CVI current: within 7 days required for each animal)
· Hog Show Rules:
o Classes determined after weigh in.
o All breeds/crosses and genders will be shown together.
o Show Management reserves the right to refuse entries if animal is of questionable health and/or quality.
· Goat Show Rules:
o Classes determined after weigh in.
o All breeds/crosses and genders will be shown together.
o Show Management reserves the right to refuse entries if animal is of questionable health and/or quality.
· Lamb Show Rules
o Classes determined after weigh in.
o All breeds/crosses and genders will be shown together.
o Show Management reserves the right to refuse entries if animal is of questionable health and/or quality.
· Beef Cattle Show Rules:
· Market Beef:
o Classes determined after weigh in.
o All breeds/crosses and genders will be shown together.
· Breeding Beef:
o English Breeds; Purebreds only, for Angus (Black and Red), Hereford (Horned and Polled), Galloway and Shorthorn. Purebred verification required.
o Continental/Crosses; All other breeds and all crosses entered in this division.
o Commercial Heifer class (non-registered heifers) need breed sire and dam listed on entry form.
· Show Management reserves the right to refuse entries if animal is of questionable health and/or quality.
· Showmanship Rules:
o Entry Fee $8 per division; one entry per species
o Animal and exhibitor must compete together in class to be eligible for showmanship.
o All exhibitors must show their own animals. NO EXCEPTIONS!
o Beef, Goats, Lambs and Swine showmanship divisions will be broken as follows:
